Terms of use

What Knowfone is

Knowfone is a free app that runs tests on the Android phone it is installed on and summarises them as an answer: good to buy, buy only at a lower price, don't buy, or not enough tested. By using it you agree to these terms.

What the answer means

The answer describes what the tests measured at that moment, on that phone. It is information to help you decide, not a guarantee, a warranty or a certificate of authenticity. Some things cannot be checked by any app, such as earlier water damage, internal repairs, whether a phone is stolen or blocked, and how long it will keep working. A phone can also be changed after a test. Before you pay, check the points the report lists, and run the test yourself on the phone you are buying.

Seller certificates and shared reports

A shared report or certificate shows what was measured on the day of the check. Do not change or misrepresent it. Anyone can create a link that looks like a report, so buyers should treat a shared report as a summary and confirm it with their own check.

Tests that put load on the phone

Some tests use the processor, storage, battery, speakers or flash heavily for a short time. The longest ones ask before they start. Use the app on a phone you are allowed to test, and stop any test you do not want to run.

Ads

Knowfone is paid for by ads from Google AdMob, shown outside the tests. Watching the optional ad that unlocks a seller certificate is your choice. See the privacy policy.

No warranty and limits

The app is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for any loss from a purchase, sale or other decision made with the help of the app, or from using the app.

Changes

These terms may change; the current version is always on this page.
